Here are some information on your way to Aleph Hotel Istanbul or when you're travelling around the city.

Ataturk Airport to Aleph

Public Transportation: Use the metro station (M1) downstairs next to the international arrivals to get to Zeytinburnu. Take the T1 tram goes to Kabatas direction and get of in Sultanahmet station.

Shuttle: Ask for the Havatas Bus which leaves every half-hour. Get off in Taksim. Take the funicular in Taksim metro station downhill to Kabatas and transfer to tram and get off in Sultanahmet Station.

Taxi: Yellow cabs are lined up just outside the arrivals terminal. Ask the driver to call us and keep an eye on the meter (should take about 50TL).

Airport Transfer: From Ataturk Airport the transfer costs about €30 up to 4 people. A professional driver will pick you up from airport directly to our hotel. The easiest and most comfortable way for families or heavy luggages dough a bit expensive for less then 2 people.

Sabiha Gokcen Airport to Aleph Istanbul

Public Transportation or Shuttle Bus: Use the bus with the number E10 or take the Havatas bus. You can find them across the exit of the arrivals terminal in the airport. Make sure you take the one to Kadıköy and (not the one to Taksim). Once you get to Kadıköy, take a ferry at the pier that goes to Karaköy. In Karaköy, ask for the tram station at the bridge, and take the one to Bağcılar direction. Get off in Sultanahmet station.

Public Transport in Istanbul

If you're planning to use public transportation in Istanbul the first thing is first and it is buying an "Istanbul Card" from any of the terminals or a news stands for about 7TL, and load some credits to it. With this card you can use most of the public vehicles and get discount when transferring one another.

Instead of using buses to get across Bosporus, preferring ferries or boats would be faster because of the heavy traffic. This way you'll also enjoy the beautiful view

Driving in Istanbul

If you're planning to stay in the city it's better using public transport if driving is really not necessary for your trip: Traffic is heavy most of the day and evening times; sometimes even in the late hours...
People driving in Istanbul got used to heavy traffic. They can be both skill-full and careless about the traffic laws, so watch out. It needs to strong nerves and advanced driving skills, otherwise it will can a difficult experience. We also need to remind you that parking lots: It's quite expensive and finding a spot is not easy. If your business or holiday requires driving we suggest hiring a professional at least for a while to get the idea and decide yourself.
